Sharon Kay Pinegar Helfenbein Massucci, age 86, peacefully entered Heaven on November 19, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at her daughter's home in Levelland, Texas. Sharon was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She left behind a beautiful legacy of love.
Sharon was born in Higgins, Texas, on May 12, 1938, to Mollie and Henry Pinegar. She attended Darrouzett High School where she twirled the baton and was crowned homecoming queen. Her greatest joy came from nurturing her beloved children. Sharon was a woman of many talents. She always found beauty in the world around her. She expressed her creativity through cooking, painting and gardening. She also enjoyed baking a German chocolate cake for her family, decorating for Christmas and drinking coffee while birdwatching.
Funeral services honoring Sharon will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Darrouzett, Texas, with interment to follow at Darrouzett Cemetery. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Kendall Helfenbein, Tambra and Charles Nichols, Brenda Baldwin and Ron Baldwin, and honorary daughter, Danielle Blanchard. Her beautiful family includes grandchildren: Amanda and Taylor Elfervig, Jamee and Landyn Miller, Lauren and Ryan Helfenbein, Charlotte Nichols, Breanne and Chad Nichols, Sommer Baldwin, Barri and Tyler Wilkinson, Kayla and Colt Nichols, and Hayley and Clark Fangmeier. She was also extremely proud of her great-grandchildren: Christian Miller, Ashlyn Miller, Victoria Helfenbein, Jackson Helfenbein, Helen Claire Helfenbein, Eleanor Helfenbein, Wyatt Nichols, Luke Nichols, Caleb Nichols, Eleanor Wilkinson, Olivia Wilkinson, Blair Wilkinson, Reese Wilkinson, Lila Birchfield, Piper Nichols, Brody Nichols, Jonathan Fangmeier and Caroline Fangmeier. Sharon was lovingly known as “Bug” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy and happiness.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, John Massucci, her parents, Mollie and Henry Pinegar, and her siblings, James Pinegar, Erwina Studer, Melba Gibson, Charles Pinegar, Geneva Avera, Mary Lobell, Harold Pinegar and Allen Pinegar.
