Sharon Ann McClain, affectionately known as “Beezy” to family and friends, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on February 6th at U of M Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, Michigan.
Sharon was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on April 1, 1948, to Otis and Vera Reed. A graduate of Saginaw High School, Sharon worked in different fields throughout her life that included secretarial and customer service. The most important and rewarding job was being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
At the heart of Sharon’s life was a beautiful marriage shared with Dave McClain in 1991. Together, they nurtured a home defined by love, laughter, and family.
She had a special love for shopping, listening to music, reading the bible, and her houseplants. She especially found joy in the simple moments spent with the people she loved the most.
Sharon made the decision to relocate to Lansing, MI twenty years ago to be closer to her sons. In that time, she built more than just a home, she cultivated a wonderful village of family and friends, with whom she loved to spend time with.
Sharon is survived by her daughter, Tracy; sons, Andre (special friend Andrea “Lisa” Campbell) and Dave (Deanna) Reed; grandchildren, Dre’Von, Ta’Davyion, and Christian Reed; sisters, Geraldine Harrison and Linda Reed. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, as well as great-nieces, and nephews. Special friends, Maggie Johnson, Joyce Martin, Linda McClain Holiday Veasley, and Linda Taylor Prince.
Sharon was predeceased by parents, Otis and Vera Reed; her loving husband, Dave McClain; sister, Katherine Reed; and five brothers, James, Leroy, Fred, Leonard and Otis Reed.
Sharon lived a life defined by love, generosity, and quiet strength. Above all else, she was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to nurturing, supporting, and loving her family. Her kindness, warmth, and steady presence shaped the lives of those around her in ways that will never be forgotten.
