Sharon Kay Moreland

Sharon passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the age of 85.
Born in Wickenburg, Arizona, Sharon had a wonderful childhood growing up on a farm. There were many stories of her being raised with your usual farm animals along with parrots and a couple of monkeys. Her mother was an animal lover and passed that love to Sharon, or Sherry as she lovingly called her.
She began working at a young age at Telco Credit Union. It was here that she met one of her lifelong friends Nita Curry. It was a friendship that defied the ages and was full of laughter, love and heartbreak.
In 1966, Sharon moved to Riverside with her husband, where she raised 3 children. Always heavily involved in PTA, ballet, scouts and sports, she was the ultimate "Team Mom'". Sharon and her husband also began a photography business, Action Photographic, specializing in off-road racing photography. Sharon always had a love for art. Early on, she enjoyed painting, pottery and macrame. She also took classes in stained glass and designed several pieces that are still enjoyed by the family today.
Sharon was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Kappa, a philanthropic sorority. For several years, they put on Broadway style shows to raise money for Easter Seals, along with Monte Carlo nights and wine tasting events. The sorority was a very large part of her life, and she truly gave her all. She also belonged to 2 different bunco groups that lasted 25+ years.
As her children grew up, Sharon returned to banking and worked for Riverside County Federal Credit Union, in downtown Riverside for 15 years. After retiring, she helped care for her mother and enjoyed traveling.
Sharon always had a huge heart and was a friend to everyone. She always dressed to impress and had impeccable taste. She never wanted to disappoint anyone and will be missed terribly.
Sharon is survived by her Daughters Dorien Upton (Mark) and Jill Moreland (Katie), Daughter-in-law Janet Moreland, Grandchildren Kellen Chaffee, Ryan Moreland, Troy Moreland and Great Granddaughter Madisyn Chaffee. She is preceded in death by her Son Todd Moreland and Daughter Misty Moreland.
