Sharon A. Movrich (Ehmke), 75, of Eau Claire, WI passed away with her daughters by her side on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Rolling Meadows Memory Care in
Strum, WI.
She was born on October 20, 1947, in
Park Falls, WI, the daughter of Fred and Loretta (Herbst) Ehmke. She attended and graduated from Lincoln High School in
Park Falls, WI, where she was on the Torch yearbook committee, The Home Economics Club, and Chorus.
She married Peter Movrich on June 12, 1965, and they spent 32 years together.
Sharon drove school bus at Eau Claire Student Transit for almost 30 years. She was tough, but fair to her students and they loved her.
Sharon enjoyed many activities including crafts, crocheting, cooking, gardening, bowling, camping, reading, and spending time with friends and family. She was notorious for playing Christmas music from October through January. She loved watching scary movies and Elvis movies with her daughters, usually with a cat snuggled on her lap. Some of the words used to describe her are loyal, friendly, fun, and most of all, a spitfire.
She is survived by her step-mother, Mitz (Fred) Ehmke; sister, Vanessa (Kevin) Kramasz of Franklin; daughters, Debora (Scott) Kunferman of Eleva and Vicki Movrich of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Cole and Cade Kunferman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Alfred (Loretta) Herbst; and her sister, Judy (Jerry) Hext.
The family would like to thank the staff at both Interim HealthCare of Eau Claire and Rolling Meadows of Strum for providing wonderful and compassionate end of life care to her.
When asked what type of service she would like, she initially said "nothing formal, just put my ashes on a shelf in Scott's garage so everyone can say hi and wave at me as they pass". After telling her that her family and friends would like to gather to chat about favorite memories of her, she relented. Therefore, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 12 – 4 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Chippewa Valley Cremation Services – Celebration of Life Center, 1717 Devney Drive,
Altoona, WI 54720. A light lunch and snacks will be provided.
