Sharon Ann Nelson was born on July 11, 1952, to Garland Nelson, Sr. and Ruby Moore-Nelson in Weimar, Texas. Sharon attended school in Colorado County, Texas and spent many years in healthcare aiding her patients via private sitting. She had a love for cooking and especially loved cooking soul food.

On March 3, 2026, Sharon answered God's call to Heaven. She will be reunited with her father, Garland Nelson, Sr.; her mother, Mrs. Ruby Moore-Nelson; brother, Marshall Nelson; sister Sandra Ashton; brother, Garland Nelson, Jr.; sister, Margaret Amos; son, Carnell Nelson; daughter Sharon Lynn Payton and grandson Landon Payton.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Darnell Nelson of New York City, NY and Parnell Nelson of Austin, TX; four sisters, Hazel yates of Fort Worth, TX: Brenda Bennett of San Antonio, TX, Barbara Ann Nelson of Houston, TX and Jeno Hargrove (Leo) of Columbus, TX: one brother, Winston Nelson (Keisha) of Ardmore, OK: a very special cousin, Debrorah Jo (Thompson) Mitchell of Columbus, TX: godson, Christopher Edwards of Houston, TX: and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
