Sharon Stinnett Petke

December 10, 1952 -

December 28, 2025

KINGSPORT - Sharon Stinnett Petke, 73, of Asbury Place, Kingsport, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025, in Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.

The daughter of the late A.J. and Estelle Cora Stinnett, she was born December 10, 1952, in Maryville, Tenn. She retired from Eastman Chemical Company in 2007 from the Chemicals Research Division. She was active at Waverly Road Presbyterian Church and in Stephen Ministry.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years David Petke; one son, Rodney Holland and wife Lane of Franklin, Tenn., one daughter, Rebekah Aycock and husband Shaun of Cedartown, Ga., one step-son, Fred Petke and wife Shawna of Lexington, Ky.; one step-daughter, Sarah Gall and husband Ed of Lititz, Pa.; six grandchildren, Aiden, Maddox, Micah, Harper, Declan, Holland, and Jake; one sister-in-law, Barbara Stinnett of Alcoa, Tenn.; special friends, Brenda White-Wright and Deinya Mautz; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.

She was preceded by her parents and her brother, Ed Stinnett.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Waverly Road Presbyterian Church.

Memorial donations may be made in Sharon's honor to the TS Alliance, the Waverly Road Presbyterian Church Benevolence Fund, or to CASA for Kids in Kingsport.
