Sharon "Tuffy" Pitman, 66 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away at home on July 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born on July 24, 1958, in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Paul and Barbara Simmons. She enjoyed her work with others at The Grand at River Valley Nursing Home in Poughkeepsie. Sharon married Berry Pittman in 1973 who is predeceased and later spent her life with her partner Taz Thomas who survives at home. She is survived by her children Berry Pittman Jr. of Albany, NY; Eugean Pittman (Colleen) of Hyde Park, NY; and Vera Pittman of Albany, NY; sisters Karen Douglas, Gloria Burns, and brothers Jeff and Dave Simmons and Jack Goodman; grandchildren Bob, Shyann, Skye, Ajani, Elliana and great grandkids, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by her loving daughter Sherry Pittman; brother Paul Simmons; sisters Sandy and Cindy Simmons.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 19, 2025, from 1pm to 2:30pm at Nubian Directions Inc. 248 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
