Rea Funeral ChapelSharon "Moe" "Charlie" Kay Puckett, 63, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Ridgecrest Nursing Center in Warrensburg, MO. She was born on June 20, 1962, in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Leo Dooley and Joan (Schneeberger) Dooley, who preceded her in death.
On June 2, 1995, in Kansas City, KS, she was united in marriage to Robert David Puckett, Jr., who preceded her in death on November 16, 2020.
Sharon grew up in Dallas City, IL, and was a proud graduate of Dallas City High School, Class of 1980. During her school years, she played basketball and softball. As a child, she loved riding her bike around town, horseback riding, splashing and exploring in the "crick," babysitting, working on cars with her dad, and helping on a local farm. She later continued her education at Kansas City Kansas Community College, earning her Associate's Degree in Accounting and Computer Science.
Sharon worked for many years as a bartender, a role that suited her outgoing personality. She enjoyed playing in pool and dart leagues, and she and her husband competed together in numerous tournaments. They also were avid Karaoke singers and fishermen. Sharon loved hosting family gatherings, whether pool parties or backyard barbeques, where everyone played cards, tossed horseshoes, listened to music, and enjoyed time together.
A talented crafter and gardener, Sharon spent much of her spare time creating. She enjoyed woodworking, painting, stained glass, and making wind chimes. Holidays were especially meaningful to her, and she was well known for her love of games, cards, dice, and for always preparing far too much food.
Sharon was truly a people person who never met a stranger. She made friends everywhere she went, many of whom became like family. She had a natural way of "adopting" her children's friends as her own, always offering support, humor, and a warm place to land.
Sharon is survived by six children, Renee Chambers (Dustin) of Olathe, KS, Tawnya Puckett (Nick) of Sedalia, MO, Rebecca Frecks (Kirk) of Gardner, KS, Robert Puckett (Elizabeth) of Harrisonville, MO, Endylee Puckett of Sedalia, MO, Curtis Puckett of Kansas City, KS.
She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren-Dominick, Brenden, Kolton, Kaydence, Brentley, Tanner, Ryker, Kynsley, Kolbi, Maverick, and Jett; five siblings-David Dooley (Phyllis) of Dallas City, IL, J.D. Strope of Monroe, GA, Mary Schiedel of Burlington, IA, Patty Peterson of Stronghurst, IL, and Sandy Johnson of Rome, IA; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
In addition to her husband and parents, Sharon was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Dooley and Michael Dooley.
A celebration of life gathering with family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family, payable to Renee Chambers, in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
