Sharon Ann Rice, 82, of Akron, passed away at home, surrounded by her family on November 2, 2025. She was born on March 20, 1943 to the late Oscar and Beatrice {Wellons} Rice.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her brothers Michael and Brent Rice.
Sharon is survived by her loving sons Robin (Luwanda) Rice and Dwayne Rice; grandchildren Constance Rice, Brittany Harris, Antionette Bowen, Alexis Rice and Ashley Rice; great-grandchildren Dalvin Strong Jr., Donavin Strong, Immanuel Green, Nori Souffrant, Alani Souffrant, Glow Souffrant, Kameron Truitt, Ethan Truitt and McKenzie Cox; great-great-grandchildren Olivia Bowen, Journi Bowen, Jace Bowen; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Sharon had a 30+ year career as a librarian with the Department of Education. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, caring for her flowers, interior decorating, and a good yard sale. She was a woman of strong faith, and loved being involved in her church, attending choir practice and Bible study, and reading the word of God.
Sharon left an impact everywhere she went, through her fashion sense, the students she shared knowledge with over the years, and most importantly, her family.
Per Sharon's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of Sharon's life will be held on Wednesday, November 5th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at 1862 Marigold Ave. Akron, OH 44301. To share a memory of Sharon or leave a special message for her family, visit the guest book below.
