Sharon Stricker Obituary

Sharon Fisher Stricker Charleston - Sharon Fisher Stricker, 66, of Charleston, South Carolina, died December 17, 2022, after a most courageous battle against scleroderma disease. At the time of her death, Sharon was residing in Hallandale Beach, Florida with her beloved husband, Michael Stricker. Sharon was born in Charleston on February 26, 1956 and was the youngest child of the late Ida Schaeffer Fisher and the late Morris Fisher. As a teen, she worked at her parent's convenience store, the Folly Road Pantry, on James Island. In 1973. Sharon graduated from St. Andrews High School, where she started on the women's varsity basketball team. Sharon attended the University of Maryland where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Nursing and went on to earn her Master's in Hospital Administration at George Washington University. While completing her residency at Kennestone Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, she met the love of her life, Michael Stricker. Sharon returned to Charleston, where she and Michael were wed on June 9, 1985 at Brith Shalom Beth Israel Synagogue. Sharon was an accomplished career woman who led many pivotal expansion projects around the city for Roper Hospital as their Director of Planning and Vice President. Being the devoted mother that she was, Sharon retired from her fifteen year career in 2000 to devote full time care for her three young children. Sharon lived for her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy beyond measure. She fought to live long enough to see the birth of her third grandchild, Kyra Drozdow, born on December 14, 2022. Sharon was a proud Zionist and lover of Judaism, who devoted her life to instilling strong Jewish values of Chesed (kindness), Mitzvot (good deeds),and Tradition in her family, leaving behind an imprinted, everlasting legacy. Her grandchildren will carry that legacy. Sharon, a good soul with a giving hand and a heart of gold, will live on forever in the hearts of her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Michael Stricker, her three children, Joshua Stricker of Israel, Elon Stricker (Sara) of Atlanta, and Leila Drozdow (Gregory) of Miami, her three grandchildren, Noah Stricker, Ethan Stricker, and newborn baby girl, Kyra Drozdow, her brothers, Dr. Dennis Fisher (Terry) and Allan Fisher (Louise) and by her nieces, nephews, and cousins. A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, December 19 at 2:30 PM, at the Brith Sholom Beth Israel (Maryville), off Sycamore Avenue, West Ashley. Memorials in Sharon's honor may be made to: The Ida Fisher Memorial Fund for Israel Education and Action, Congregation Dor Tikvah, 1645 Wallenberg Boulevard, Charleston 20407 or to the The Scleroderma Research Foundation, scfcure.org , 415-834-9444. I am so sorry to hear that Sharon has passed away. I babysat for Josh, Elon, and Leila when they were wee babies. Sharon loved her children so much, and she truly loved Michael. It was a gift to know her, and I know her family will cherish her memory forever. May her memory be a blessing for generations to come.

I am totally devastated to hear this news today. I have been friends with Sharon since elementary school. Oh the stories I could tell. Sharon was such a family person. She adored them and especially the grandchildren. I am so sorry I couldn´t be there today , but I am in Kentucky. My heart is with you all. I didn´t know she was sick. Please let me know how I can get in touch with Michael and Leila.
