Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Society of Kansas & Missouri - Prairie Village on Jan. 29, 2026.
Sharon Kay (Bledsoe) Wardlow passed away on January 2, 2026 at 5:50 PM. She was 82 years old. Sharon was born to Louie and Florene (Wright) Bledsoe on March 29, 1943, on a small farm northeast of Savannah, MO. She attended several country schools, and when her mother went to teach in the public school at Fillmore, MO in about 1958, she met her future husband James Milton Wardlow. Sharon would later move to Savannah, MO where she graduated from Savannah High School in 1961. She would work at the Andrew County Extension Office until 1963, when she married her lifelong companion Jim Wardlow on January 26.

The couple moved to Kansas City, MO, where Sharon took a job at AT&T just down the street from the S. S. Kresge Company where her husband was employed. Sharon would later attend Avila College where she graduated with a degree in Nursing in 1981. After graduation, she worked at North Kansas City Hospital. She also worked as a school nurse at several schools for the North Kansas City School District. When Jim's job took them to Texas, she worked as a school nurse for the White Settlement school district in Fort Worth, TX. Sharon and Jim welcomed two wonderful children, Dina Nancy in 1967 and Joanna Kay in 1971.

In her later years, Sharon was a hospice volunteer. She and Jim traveled around the world on many different trips. She enjoyed attending her grandkids' activities and helped care for them when they were growing up. She really enjoyed being a grandma and delighted in all of her grandkids' achievements.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters Sue McAfee, Betty Fox, and Patricia Ramsey. She is survived by her husband Jim, her daughters Dina Davis and Joanna (Shaun) Anspaugh, and grandchildren Brenna Davis, Mason (Sydney) Davis, Shayne Anspaugh, and Lauryn Anspaugh.

Sharon will be cremated and will find her final resting place in the Fillmore Cemetery in Fillmore, MO. A short burial service for family and close friends will be conducted on January 18, 2026 at 1:00 PM.
