Sharon Gail Wells, age 56, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Baptist Health Corbin.
Born in Knox County, KY, she was the daughter of Amanda Geraldine Smallwood and the late Oakley Smallwood, Sr. Sharon enjoyed the simple joys of life—camping, fishing, sitting by the firepit, and spending meaningful time with her family. She loved to cook and especially enjoyed hosting cookouts, where family and friends gathered to share food, laughter, and memories.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her infant child; brother, Oakley Smallwood, Jr.; and nephews, Charles Bishop Smallwood and Rocky Evans.
She is survived by her loving husband, Steve Wells; children, Shawntae Smith and husband Shawn, Nikki Burnett, Matthew Wells and wife Amanda, and Bradley Wells; grandchildren, Jonas Smith, Trevor Smith, Tori Wynn and husband James, Adam Riley Vaughn, Brooklyn Wells, Luann Wells, Jordan Wells, Steven Wells, Samari Wells, Nakota Morris, Bradley Wells, Jax Wells, and Samuel Wells; sisters, Rose Ella Smallwood, Barbara Smith and husband Tim, Sherry Grey and husband Johnny, and Darlene Bingham.
She was also a cherished “nother Nana” to Aiden Sevier, Oakley Waltz, and McKenna Ann Rose Davis, and is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held from 6:00–9:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the funeral home with Rev. James Mays officiating.
Burial will follow at Felts Chapel Cemetery in Corbin, KY.
