Sharon Celes Roddy Williams was born to Sister Josie Mae “Bill” Roddy and Reverend Howard Hayward Roddy on November 25, 1962, in Donalsonville, Georgia. She loved to sing and joined Mount Olive M. B. Church Choir at an early age. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and went on to work in the medical field as an Aid at Bainbridge State Hospital and Bainbridge Healthcare.
Sharon liked to laugh and have fun. At a young age, she loved sliding down the hill with her brothers, even though she wore many scares from doing it. She loved playing any type of board game and wasn’t opposed to the occasional cheating to win.
Sharon loved helping people and volunteering her time at the community service center. She was very active active in the church and served as an Evangelist at her home church, Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church.
Sharon departed her earthly life on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Williams Jr., her parents, and her siblings Denny Coney and Rossie C. Martin.
Having touched many lives, she leaves behind two devoted sons, Christopher Williams and Joshua Williams; a daughter, Lakessa Williams; three sisters: Bernice Reese, DeLois Conyers (Ralph), and Hava Crawford; a special sister, Greta Roddy; three brothers: Tony White, Ross Roddy (Patricia), and Jerome Roddy; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; and her Mimi.
