Hirt, Shawn Davis

Following a deep struggle with liver disease, Shawn Davis Hirt, passed away in his home in Andover, Minnesota on 2/19/2026 at the age of 59.

He is survived by his son, Brian Hirt, daughter, Megan Hirt, his sister Beth (Mike) Audette, his mother Dianne (Russ) Haag, his father Jack (Judy) Hirt, his ex-wife Renee Hirt and his girlfriend Denise Noel.

Shawn grew up in Isanti county in Minnesota. He loved playing tabletop roleplay games with his childhood friends Brian Isle and Brian Talbert. He enjoyed the Minnesota Vikings football team, grilling, cooking, and playing computer games such as World of Tanks. He was in love with history, the stars, collector coins and science fiction novels.

He enjoyed the History Channel and movies, especially the Lord of the Rings. Always good with fixing things from an appliance to cars, he was moving towards a career in repairing antique clocks. Shawn loved nature and would go hiking and camping all across the United States. Bison were his favorite animal and he took every opportunity he could to see them. One of his favorite memories was seeing the Minneapolis Miracle with his son Brian at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis in 2018.

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, Honorably discharged. He held a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology and a Master's Degree in Business Administration - Technical Management and worked at BAE Systems in Fridley, Minnesota as a Test Engineer for over 30 years.

A celebration of Shawn's life will be held in the summertime, organized by his loved ones.
