Shawn Kilgore, 54, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton following a period of declining health.
Born January 25, 1971, Shawn was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. He was a 1989 graduate of Dawson County High School. Shawn had a genuine love for cars and spent his entire career working as an automobile technician. A devoted and loving husband, he was of Baptist faith and loved his pets very much. Shawn was a dear friend to many and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Janie and Homer Odom and beloved grandparents, Clyde and Oletta Disharoon.
Surviving are his wife, Misty Kilgore of Dawsonville; aunts and uncles, David and Regina Disharoon, Danny and Eulene Disharoon, Cathy Wilson, Gary and Nancy Disharoon; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Allen Swafford, Rev. Ruel Martin and Rev. Jason Hamby will officiate. Interment will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday May 2 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 noon until the hour of service.
