HARTLAND-Shawn E. Mitchell, 52, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Hartland on December 16, 2023.
He was born on February 11, 1971, in Pittsfield, Maine, to Earl Mitchell and Marie (Ward) Mitchell. He graduated from Nokomis High School with the class of 1989.
He was a man with a great passion for sports and would even say it was in his blood. He enjoyed watching football but more importantly the Patriots. He had a love for all New England sports teams including the Red Sox despite his daughter's love for the Yankees. He loved to play softball which he did even into late adulthood. He also took great interest in indoor horticulture.
He was a man of great work ethic and heart, always taking great pride and putting 100% into everything he did. He had been a faithful employee of 14 years at Ntension Corporation in Hermon, recently working as a Tig welder the last 7 years.
He is survived by his mother, Marie Mitchell; his daughter, Dakota Peckham and husband Chris; his son, Jarrett Bristow; grandchildren: Natalie and Grayson; nephew, Kollin; cousin, Troy; and his companion, Lori Leavitt and her children.
He was predeceased by his father, Earl Mitchell; and his brother, Mark Cobb.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., January 6,, 2024, at Grace Linn Memorial United Methodist Church, 8 Seekins Street, Hartland, ME.
