With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shawn Michael Smith on Friday, July 5, 2024.
Born on February 18, 1973 and every day since then, Shawn lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed camping, fishing, his favorite restaurants, but mostly enjoyed staying home (where he was the most comfortable) watching movies, playing his favorite video games with his son, and just hanging out with friends & family. Also, he truly cherished his long conversations over the phone with anyone and everyone, beginning with his signature tagline “what’s up with ya?!”
Shawn’s greatest joy in life was his family & friends. He was a devoted father, son, brother, and a friend to all whose love and support were unwavering. His family & friends were his world and he cherished every moment with them, creating memories filled with a ton of love and laughter. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience for life, and a love that will forever be remembered by all who knew him. Shawn’s life, though taken too soon, was filled with unforgettable moments. He leaves behind a family that adored him and a world made better by his presence.
Preceding Shawn in death were his grandparents, Doyle and Mildred Smith; and his stepfather Tony “Rabbit” Allan.
Those left surviving to carry on Shawn’s memory include his son William Brady Smith-in which his whole life revolved around; his mother Betty Allan; siblings Tabatha (Mark) Schorsch & Olga Hildebrand; nephews Nicolas, Jaden & Cameron and his favorite niece Jayda; as well as many, many aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as many other close relatives and friends who are now emptier upon his passing.
Shawn Michael Smith will be deeply missed but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he now rest in peace, be able to see all the things he couldn’t see before, and be surrounded by the love and light he so generously shared with the world.

In typical Shawn fashion there will not be services/funeral per his final request.
However, there will be a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 4-8pm at the Bellevue Vets. Address is 24 Fairfield Ave Bellevue KY 41073. Please stop in, share a funny story or two & grab a bite to eat. Dress code is obviously very casual, the way Shawn would want it.
We conclude one last time with Shawn’s infamous ending of each conversation……..
”I love you and I’ll talk at ya later”
