Sheila Bright, age 66, departed this Earthly Life on Thursday, September 14, 2023. She is preceded in death by her son, Gerald Picquet; parents, Celina and Ernest Bright, Sr; 3 grandchildren, Kymar McCormick, Armani Bright, and Keyon Picquet; 5 siblings, Patricia Harvey, Augustine Toney, Diane Bailey, Doris Gardener, and Ernest Bright, Jr; brother-in-law, Jeff Morgan, Sr; and uncle, Lawrence Gibson. Sheila leaves to cherish her memories her companion, Nathaniel Fortenberry; 5 children, Tracy Thomas (Eric), Stacy Brackens (Steve), Asanti Walker (Larry), Ayonna McCormick, and Macio Thomas; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 7 siblings, Dolores, Sylvia, Marguerite, Brenda, Evelina, Shirley (Kevin), and Lawrence (Christine); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are all invited to attend her Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, September 30, 2023, 1:00PM, at Professional Funeral Services, 1449 N. Claiborne Ave, NOLA with Pastor Tom Washington of Grace Fellowship MBC officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00PM until the hour of service.
