Sheila Rae Case Evans, at the age of 77, passed away in the arms of her loving husband on Saturday, March 16, 2024 after a long battle with lung disease.
Sheila was born on May 28, 1946 in
Provo, Utah. She was the seventh of eleven children (4 boys and 7 girls) born to Glen LeRoy and Wilma Pierce Case. Sheila's childhood was spent in Orem, Utah, where she loved to play in the canal and pick fruit from the local orchards. Her large family and small childhood home made it necessary to make her adventures outdoors with her many relatives and friends. Sheila was extremely outgoing and positive, and loved to play pranks on her brothers and sisters.
Sheila was born with the gift of gab! She easily made friends with anyone and everyone! She would constantly start up long conversations with complete strangers, no matter where she was, and tell them all about her family. She would always tell you exactly what was on her mind, even when she probably shouldn't have. But, at any time of day or night, she was available to us all for a talk, a serious discussion, or just to pass the time.
Sheila married the love of her life, Ronnie Leroy Evans, on December 12, 1970, and they spent 55 years building a life together and raising their five children (all boys), in Orem, and then moving to
Sandy, Utah in 1977.
Sheila attended college and received her certificate in administration, before working in various roles as secretary and in sales & marketing. But her true passion was always at home, taking care of her house, husband, children, and grandchildren.
She was highly motivated and kept herself moving at all times. Among Sheila's joys were sewing, gardening, and cooking. Disneyland was her favorite place on Earth and she loved everything Disney. Holidays were her most favorite times of the year and she cherished the opportunity to spend them with her family, especially Halloween and Christmas!
Sheila gave her heart and soul to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. They were all her source of pride and joy, she loved and believed in every one of them without condition. Her loyalty had no bounds and she was fiercely protective of everyone she cared about.
Sheila was a selfless and giving woman. She had a heart of gold and would put others' needs above her own in all situations and would truly give her last dime to someone in need. She had a way of making anyone around her feel absolutely unique, important, and special. She loved so deeply.
Through all the struggles with her terminal disease, she remained positive and hopeful. She looked past her pain and suffering, she always had a kind word, or two, for her friends and family, and looked forward to the conversation. She possessed impossible strength in adversity and challenged her prognosis right up to her last day on Earth.
Sheila was truly a one-of-a-kind! She was generous, honest and kind and she had a contagious spark for life. Although her time with us was far too brief, she leaves behind countless memories, laughs, and an enduring spirit.
Sheila is survived by her husband Ronnie, her children Shawn, Deon (Kimmy), Lance, and Brandon (Dorothy), her grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart, Tyler (Skye), JD (Shealee), Brandon Jr. (Carli), Jaren (Amanda), Damon (Nicolette), Kailee (Wyatt) Williams, Austin, Bryceton, Colton, & Shariyah, her great-grandchildren, who filled her heart with joy, Jersie, Ellie, Nixxon, Swayzee, Knoxx, Logan, Wyatt, Kashe, Indy, Tinslee, Josie, & McCoy. Sheila was also survived by her sisters Joyce Taylor, Sherrie Childs, Penny (Wayne) Robison, and brothers Gordon (Claudia) Case, and John Rex Case.
She is preceded in death by her oldest son, Shane Roy Evans, her parents, grandparents, sisters Darlene Anderson, LeeAnn Redmond, & Janet Norman and her brothers Bobby Case & Rodger Case.
