Sheila C. Durham

Williamston, SC

Sheila Carter Durham, a devoted mother, loving wife, talented artist, and steadfast fighter, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at her home. Born on April 9, 1955, Sheila lived a life marked by creativity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to her family.

In the early years of her working life, Sheila was a gifted designer with The Flour Corporation. Later, she embraced the role of homemaker, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to nurturing her family and creating a warm, loving home. Sheila’s proudest accomplishments were her family, whom she cherished deeply.

Sheila was an artist at heart, finding great joy in painting and exploring the world through travel, often accompanied by her dear husband, Keith Durham. Her faith and strong bonds with loved ones were central to her life; she treasured holding bible studies with her sister. Throughout her battle with cancer, Sheila exhibited remarkable strength and determination, inspiring all who knew her with her courage and grace.

Sheila is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Keith Durham; sons Jacob Durham and Wesley Durden; sisters Shirley Shurley and Brenda Turner; brother Terry Carter; grandchildren Alex, Brice, Gavin, Gabby, Addison Durden, and Andrew Sloan; and precious great-grandchildren Aurora and Orion. Her family was by her side during her final moments, providing comfort and love.

Sheila also leaves behind a legacy of beloved family members who preceded her in death: her father, Brinson Wesley Carter; her mother, Jessie Marie Ashe Carter; her brothers James B. Carter, Ronnie Carter, Hubert Carter, and Larry Carter; and her sisters, Patsy Carter and Barbara Jean Bembry. Their memories remain treasured in the hearts of those who loved them.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home Downtown, 305 West Main Street, Easley, South Carolina, 29640, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Sheila Carter Durham’s life was a testament to love, perseverance, and faith. Her legacy will continue in the hearts of her family and friends who were privileged to know her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
