Sheila May Hamilton Lilly, 83, of Seaford, Delaware, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and family.
Born on May 26, 1942, in Somerville, New Jersey, Sheila spent many years in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, a place she called home before moving to Seaford in 2006. Wherever she lived, she created a home filled with warmth, care, and unwavering support for those she loved.
Sheila worked as a technician at Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph in Bloomsbury, New Jersey, where she was respected for her reliability and dedication. Yet her greatest and most cherished roles were that of mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Sheila was a tremendous mother who was always there for her children–listening, helping, and loving without hesitation. She consistently put the needs of her family ahead of her own, a quiet selflessness that defined her life and touched everyone around her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Charlie of Seaford, Delaware, with whom she shared 64 years of love and family.
She is also survived by her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world: her son Chuck of Oxford, New Jersey, his wife Nancy, and grandson Anthony; her son Patrick of Columbia, New Jersey, his wife Tracee, granddaughter Reannon and her fiancé Lauren, and grandson Benjamin; and her daughter Colleen Lent of Dover, Delaware, her husband Tony; grandson Codie and his wife Mikayla, great granddaughter Emelia, and step-great grandsons Jaxon and Marcos Mesa; grandson Zachary and his girlfriend Alyssa Fitzgerald; grandson Riley and his girlfriend Shayla Rivera; and granddaughter Sophia and her girlfriend Jenna Leone.
Sheila will be remembered for her gentle strength, her open heart, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her memory will live on in the lives she shaped, the family she held close, and the countless moments of kindness that defined who she was.
A time for friends and family to gather and share memories will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4 at Cranston Funeral Home, located at 300 North Shipley Street, Seaford, DE 19973. A memorial service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation in Sheila's memory to the Phillipsburg Emergency Squad at P.O.
