Shelby William Cheeks

Shelby William Cheeks, 78, of Jonesville, passed away Monday, March 23, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Florence. He was born August 4, 1947, in Richmond, Kentucky, the son of the late Chester Thomas and Lyda B. Davis Cheeks. He was a proud Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. Shelby was a fun loving, easy going, never met a stranger guy and a good ol Kentucky country boy. He was a member of the Violet Ridge Church of Christ. He was married to Lola Ann Cheeks, who preceded him in death January 14, 2026. He is survived by his daughter, Cassandra Dawn Cheeks-Hall (Leroy); stepdaughter April Hutchinson (Jerry); step daughter Melissa Grimes; sisters Joyce Cain; Jewell Conner; Evelyn Crump; Fran Yarber; and brother Harold G. Cheeks. He is also survived by step grandchild, Casey (Rebecca) Hucker; and step great-grandchildren; Damien Atkins, Ciara Atkins and Brayden Hucker. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by siblings James, Nelson, and Neville Cheeks; Willie J. Cheeks, and sisters Lucille Berry, Jean Renfro and Mildred DeMouy. Funeral services will be held 12 PM Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Violet Ridge Church of Christ in Crittenden. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10-12PM. Interment will follow at the VA Cemetery in Williamstown with military graveside rites. BYE BYE FOR NOW!
