Shelby Irene Eldreth

Shelby Irene Eldreth, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, just days shy of her 82nd birthday. Born on May 16, 1943, in Harrisville, West Virginia, Shelby spent her life embodying warmth, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Shelby is remembered for her spirited personality and deep love for her family. She found joy in the simple things, whether it was playing Bunco with her cherished Bunco Club, cooking delightful meals that brought her loved ones together, or sharing laughter and stories around the dinner table. She also spent many years with her husband, John and their group, Living Proof Gospel Singers, traveling state to state sharing their love of music and the Lord. Shelby's life was a testament to the power of family; her love extended beyond her husband, John Eldreth, who she shared 50 wonderful years of marriage with, to her five children: four sons and a daughter. Her legacy continues in the hearts of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who scatter across the globe, each carrying a piece of her love.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and one brother.
Funeral Services, officiated by Deacon Greg Layfield, will be held Thursday May 15, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel (705 Raff Rd SW, Canton, OH 44710). Prior to the service, friends may call on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Marcus Dowler, will take place on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Middle Ridge Cemetery (276 Middle Ridge Ln, Waverly, WV 26184).
