Shelby Lee Harder

Shelby Lee Harder, 85, of Lakeland, TN passed away peacefully on April 7, 2023, after a long illness. He was born in Linden, TN, on July 7, 1937, one of seven children of Mary Jane Harder and Edmond Bryan Harder. He was preceded in death by all six siblings and his parents. He married Barbara Jean Dillard, December 31, 1964, and they were married until her death in 2013. They had two sons, Robert Carlton (Kim) and Randy Eugene (Patti), and four grandchildren, Jessica Billingsley (Tyler), Sarah Harder, Emma Harder, and Sophie Harder. He was a loving husband, father, and devoted grandfather who will be missed.
Shelby had served in the Army two years at Fort Ord, California, before moving back to the Memphis area and marrying the love of his life, Barbara. Together they built a life while he was employed as an electrician. He worked for Schlitz, Stroh's, and as a Master Electrician for Coors. He retired in 2002, to help with the care of his wife. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and going to the Gulf Coast with his family. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church and loved his church family.
His visitation will be Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Bethany Christian Church in Eads, TN. Visitation will be starting at 2:00 p.m. with the service immediately following at 3:00 p.m. and Burial at 4:00 in the Bethany Christian Cemetery.
