Shelby Jean Harrison

Shelby Jean Brown Harrison, 86, finished her course and was received into the presence of her Lord on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 while being cared for at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Shelby was born in Wayne County on June 20, 1936 to the late Floyd and Sallie Smith Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Harrison Lane.
She was a valued employee of Franklin Baking Company with over 18 years of service. A member of Saulston Community Church, Shelby Jean worshipped her Lord faithfully as long as she was able.
Shelby Jean's greatest love was for her family. Her children were her gift but her grandchildren and great-grandchildren became an even sweeter treasure. She wanted to be at everything they participated in and were their biggest fan.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Shelby Jean's life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Shelby Jean is survived by her husband of 69 years, Wayne C. Harrison; daughter, Sheila Renee Turnage and husband, Sidney of Goldsboro; three grandchildren, Ashley N. Turnage, Scarlett R. Lane and Travis J. Lane; and two great grandchildren, Samuel H. Lane and Willow Q. Lane.
