Shelby Davis Keith, 88, of Greenville, South Carolina, wife of the late Ray Edward Keith, Sr., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 3, 2025.
Born in Pelzer, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late John and Carmen Walls Davis. Shelby was a graduate of Palmetto High School, where she laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and dedication. She worked for Kemet for many years until her retirement, building both a career and lasting friendships along the way. Her family was the cornerstone of her existence. Shelby was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who found immense joy in being surrounded by her family. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and those moments enriched not only her life but also the lives of those around her. Shelby had a passion for tending to her vegetable and flower garden, where she nurtured both plants and her love for nature. She found peace and fulfillment in cultivating her garden, allowing it to flourish as she did throughout her life. Above all, her faith was paramount, guiding her daily and shaping her interactions with others. A devoted member of Tremont Church of God, Shelby loved not only her church and her pastor but also served tirelessly by volunteering in the nursery for many years. Her faith was truly the center of her life, a source of strength that inspired those who knew her.
She is survived by her two daughters, Donna Pyeatt (Barry), and Cindy Stonell; a brother, James Davis (Nancy); two sisters, Agnus McCuen (Alvin) and Becky Presley (Wayne); eight grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son Ray “Buddy” Edward Keith, Jr., three siblings; Johnny Davis (Carolyn), Mackie Davis (Rita), and Mildred Edwards (David); as well as a son-in-law, Mike Stonell.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 3:45 PM at Tremont Church of God. The memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tremont Church of God, 2854 New Easley Highway, Greenville, South Carolina 29611.
