As I lay in bed my heart is heavy. Yesterday was the mark of ten months of this beautiful angel passing and I can honestly say not one day has gone by where she hasn't been on my mind. She was one of my best friends and at one point we were inseparable, I even traveled with her and her dads band when I was in 10th grade. We met Alison Krauss together. We always talked about how awesome it would be if she became famous through bluegrass...and there is no doubt in my mind she would have! After losing Shelby I've made it a point to never lose touch with friends. We went from being so close to only seeing each other at bluegrass and I just wish now we would have made more effort to keep in touch. We did however text..and those will never be erased from my phone. Her last few messages to me was some of the best advice I have ever gotten and whenever I have a hard day I always look back to those words. Shelby was an amazing girl and she's changed my life in so many ways. I love you Shelbs and miss you! whenever I "walk the way the wind blows" I always feel you right by my side.

Shelby I loved you like you were my own daughter and to me thats what you were. MY DAUGHTER. I will miss hearing you call me "mommy" that beautiful smile and most of all the love that you gave to us all. Renee, We all here in the Dunford/Milliner family loved her so and I know you will miss her so much.I'm here whenever you need me. Love you and Jamie.

I remember Shelbylou(as I called her) traveling with us in her Daddy's band. She would sing Walk The Way The Wind Blows like a pro! I am so glad to have known such a sweet Angel! Heaven will be blessed with her presence.. My heart is heavy for James and his family. Please know that Shelby will be missed..

God watched you as you suffered, and knew you had your share.

Shelby will always be in our hearts. I will alaways remember she will come behind the stage to sing with her Dad with a big smile on her face. Her Mom was right there with a bigger smile. You will laways be in our hearts.

I didn't know Shelby, but my son did and he said she was a beautiful, very happy friend! I am so sorry for your loss and I will continue to lift all of the family and friends up in prayer!! I can't imagine losing a child! May God comfort you and give you peace in knowing that she is a beautiful angel in Heaven now doing what she had a passion for..singing..only singing for the Great Almighty now! Hallejuah!! I am sure she couldn't be happier than she is right now!! MANY people loved this girl, I can tell by all that I hear and read and I KNOW God will be with you all because you have MANY people praying for you!

I taught precious Shelby in second grade and I have never forgotten her sweet personality, the almost constant smile and those big twinkling eyes. She was a special young lady. My heart broke when I heard this news. God bless you all. Shelby will be singing in the Heavenly Choir this Christmas making beautiful music.

My daughter, Sarah Lesson of Bruington VA, was the Good Samaritan who stopped to provide aid and comfort to Shelby while she was trapped in the car. She stayed with Shelby until the ambulance took her to the hospita. The incident touched my daughter deeply. She wished she could have done more. From Robyn Whittington I learned what a special young lady Shelby was. Nothing in life prepares a parent to bury a chld. My thoughts and prayers are with you and her family as you reconcile with your loss. May God hold you in the palm of his healing hand, and may something positive come out of this tragedy.
