Shelby Renee McCalvin

Shelby Renee McCalvin, age 26 of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the UF Health Trauma One Trauma Center in Jacksonville. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida and was a lifelong resident of both Macclenny and Lake City. Shelby was a graduate of the Cambridge Prep Academy in Lake City, class of 2016. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended the Price Creek Ward in Lake City. Shelby was currently working as a secretary for DL Williams Heating and Cooling in Lake City and was also a manager with Pier 6 Seafood in Macclenny. Shelby was free spirited, very artistic and loved doing hair and makeup helping all the girls with their beauty pageants in Macclenny. Shelby had a big heart and would stop what she was doing to help anyone, anytime.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jayden Lee Padgett in 2020; maternal grandfather, Lawrence E. Manning, Sr.; maternal great-grandparents, Noah and Ruby Raulerson and John and Edna Manning; paternal grandparents, Buck and Joann Williams; paternal great-grandparents, Charlie and Geraldine Altman; and cousin, Ashley O'Neal.
Survivors include her parents, Leslie and Derrick Williams, Lake City and Jeff and Linda McCalvin, Glen St. Mary; two brothers, Matthew McCalvin (Ashley) and Hayden McCalvin all of Glen St. Mary; one sister, Laci O'Neal, Lake City; maternal grandmother, Kathryn A. Manning, Glen St. Mary; paternal grandparents, Joann and Randy Powell, Glen St. Mary; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and extended family also survive.
A funeral service honoring Shelby will be conducted on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 11:30 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Price Creek Ward, on Old Country Club Road in Lake City. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A time of visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM on Thursday at the church prior to the service.
