Shelby Barrett McDaniel, 85, of Randleman went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 20, 2022 at her home.
Shelby was a loving, kind and gentle soul who loved God, her church, her family, friends, her flowers and her animals. She had a green thumb. Shelby taught Sunday School her whole adult life and volunteered for child evangelist for many years, going to daycares to teach about Jesus. She also loved to clog. Shelby is preceded in death by her husband, Causey McDaniel, son, Keith McDaniel, mother, Ellen Barrett and brother, Bill Atwell.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Hospice for the kind and gentle care given during her illness. Also to Barbara Ritch Barefoot for all of her love, support and help during their painful time.
Shelby is survived by her daughter, Robin Taylor; grandsons, Jeremy McDaniel (Jessica of Randleman and Matthew Atkins (Katie) of Wilmington; granddaughter, Mallory Taylor of Randleman; 5 great grandchildren, Rebecca, Clayton, Corbin, Alminee McDaniel and Neriah Lea; brother, Rev. Frank Barrett; several nieces and nephews.
A celebration service will be held by the family Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Randleman Church of God.
