Dear Shelly,

It is almost 5 years since we lost you, and it has been far too many years since I spent any time with you. I greatly mourn your loss my old friend and fondly remember all the times we worked, ate, and laughed together, starting with the RCA days and for years after that.

I remember the time I was sitting on a sailboat with you, watching the sun set behind the Statue of Liberty and we were talking about what a truly wonderful place America was and what that great Statue symbolized.

The Vikings used to say that the life of a man can be fleeting and too short but a man's reputation, his "word fame", will let him live for as long as the people that have loved him still speak about him and remember him. In that sense, you will be with us for a very long time my friend. My blessings are on you.

Dear Tami, Evan and Adam,

Just want to tell you all how saddened I am about your loss. What a wonderful person Shelly was to know. It could only mean he was an even more wonderful husband and father anyone could have.

It hurt me so much that this happened to him. I can't immagine the pain it brought all of you.

My prayers have been with you all since that day. I will always be thankful I knew such a person and family. I will always remember him as a man who was loved and liked by all he ever encountered.

Sincerely,

Ernie Ricca

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
