Robert J. & Shelia M. Christie

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert J. Christie and Shelia M. Christie of Fenton, Michigan, who died just three days apart. Shelia, age 73, passed away on December 20, 2025, and Robert, age 76, followed on December 23, 2025. They were married for 54 years.

Robert was born September 11, 1949, and retired from General Motors after many years of dedicated service. Known for his strong work ethic and generous spirit, he loved building and fixing things, working on cars, and keeping his lawn meticulously maintained.

Shelia was born January 10, 1952, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She cherished visits to Nova Scotia and found joy in Celtic music, especially the bagpipes and fiddle

Above all, Robert and Shelia treasured time with their family, especially their grandchildren, who brought them great joy. They are survived by their daughter and son-in-law, Shawn Marie and Brad Compton; their grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Olivia, and Katelyn Compton; Robert’s siblings, Lawrence (Kathy), Michael (Debra), and Christine (Jim); Shelia’s step-sister, Patricia Beaudoin; and aunts Ann Marie MacEachern of Judique, Cape Breton Island; Sheila Gillie of Woodstock, New Brunswick; and Muriel Hooper of Oshawa, Ontario, as well as their niece Sarah Christie, three nephews James (Kim) Christie, Dan (Samara) Roberts and Jeff (Courtney Roberts) and several cousins in the Repshinska, Christie, Gillie and MacEachern families.

Robert and Shelia will be interred on January 2, 2026 at a graveside service at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Brighton.
