Shelley Dee Daley

Shelley Dee Daley (née Riesen) of Georgetown, Texas passed away on December 5, 2024 at the age of 66.
Shelley was born October 15, 1958 in San Francisco, California, to Nina and Orlando Riesen. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from Marina High School in 1976. In 1980, she met her husband Dennis, an officer in the US Navy, and they were married in 1981. She worked for Bank of America in San Francisco for several years, and then at the PacTel Telephone Company in San Ramon before becoming a full time mother in 1989: First to her son Matthew, then to her daughter Megan, in 1991, and finally to her daughter Margaret, in 1995. In 1997, the family moved to Georgetown, Texas, where she lived until her passing and which she always called her "little slice of heaven."
Always an animal lover, Shelley was an avid equestrian for many years, owning and showing American Quarter Horses across California and Central Texas. In her later years, she found another passion and community in quilting. Shelley was an active and prolific member of the Central Texas chapter of the Linus Project, where she donated her creative talents, spreading joy and comfort to others in need through hundreds of handmade quilts.
Shelley is survived by her husband, Dennis, also of Georgetown, Texas; her son, Matthew, of Liberty Hill, Texas; her daughter, Megan, of Stavanger, Norway; and her daughter, Margaret, of Temple, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Steven; her father, Orlando; and her mother, Nina; all of San Leandro, California.
