It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shelley Lynn Ethrington, 64, of Spokane, WA, who died on June 23rd, 2025. She was born on April, 2nd, 1961, in Spokane.
Shelley was a drug and alcohol counselor who worked with many agencies and the local tribes, investing her skills and soul into helping everyone she could along the way. She embraced her native culture with love and admiration to the Grandfather. She loved the mountains, trees, flowers, and gardening, drives, gathering bear root and cedar, thrifting (collecting treasures as she would say), the rivers and lakes, but mostly she loved being around her family & friends.
Shelley leaves behind her loving son, James Mathew (Matt) Ethrington, her step father, Herman (Skip) Runge, Her brothers, William (Billy) Stearns, Sean Maney, Christopher Garton, Dwayne Runge, Michael Runge, and her twins sisters Jan Rarick and Anna McGrew Ballard. Shelley had many nieces and nephews as well, which she adored.
Shelley was proceeded in death by her mother, Nancy Runge (Head), Her father, David Maney, Her brothers, Tony Stearns and Joseph Sterns, and her sister, Sharla Runge.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 5th, 1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. at Family of Faith Community Church, 1504 W Grace Ave, Spokane, WA, 99205.
