Shellie Ann Morse 1961 - 2025
Shellie Ann Morse, 64, of Moses Lake, Washington, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, after courageously battling illness for nearly three decades. Her strength, grace, and unbreakable spirit touched countless lives, and she left this world surrounded by the love she spent a lifetime giving.
Born in 1961 to Sam and Helen Irwin, Shellie grew up in
Everett, Washington, a cherished member of a lively family of nine children. In 1971, the Irwin family moved to the Moses Lake area to pursue farming opportunities, where Shellie would put down deep roots and build the life she treasured.
Motherhood defined Shellie's world and became a great joy and proud accomplishment. In 1980 she welcomed her first daughter, Michelle -- a moment she often said forever changed her life for the better. She met William Morse, in 1982, and together they blended their family with the arrival of daughter Amber. In 1983 Shellie and William were doubly blessed with twin sons, James and Michael, and in 1992 their youngest daughter, Aubrie, completed their family. Over the years, Shellie's heart grew even larger as she lovingly embraced Brad Schoenwald and Jason Varnell as sons.
To all her children -- Michelle, Amber, James, Michael, Aubrie, Brad, and Jason -- Shellie was everything: provider, cheerleader, teacher, and safe harbor. She considered being a good mother the most important role she would ever have, and she succeeded far beyond what she ever allowed herself to believe. Her love was fierce, unconditional, and boundless.
Beyond her own home, Shellie's heart had no walls. She became a second mother to many in the Moses Lake community -- opening her door, her arms, and her kitchen table to anyone in need. Friends, neighbors, and even strangers found in Shellie a listener, a helper, and a source of quiet strength. Her generosity and compassion knew no limits.
Words fall short when trying to capture Shellie's spirit. For almost thirty years she faced illness with determination and will that inspired everyone around her. She never complained, never gave up, and never let her struggle dim the light she shone on others. She was, in every sense, a fighter through and through.
