Sheloma Welborn Johnson, 85, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. She was born on July 2, 1939, in Yadkin County to the late John Robert Welborn and Wincie Victoria Mathis Welborn.
Mom’s love of helping others was as great as her love for being outdoors. She found solace being in her garden, on the lawn mower, or in the wood pile. Even after losing the two loves of her life, she still loved caring for friends and family with all her heart, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her wild sense of humor.
In addition to her parents, Sheloma was preceded in death by her first husband, Clayton Richardson, Jr., second husband, Frank Johnson and brothers, Arlen Welborn and Manuel Welborn.
Those left to cherish Sheloma’s memory include her children, Michele Richardson Massey (Kenny), Ray Johnson (Lori), grandchildren, Clayton Massey, Emma Massey and Charlotte Johnson. Also surviving are her siblings, Robert Lee Welborn (Teresa), Lenny Welborn, Royce Welborn (Elaine) and Lois Clay.
The family will visit with friends on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 4:00 PM with Rev. Ernest Bowes officiating.
