Sheri Oubre Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 20, 2010.
Sheri Haley Oubre, a wonderful wife, a loving mother, an extraordinary friend and a true disciple, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2010 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, Covington, Louisiana after a long courageous fight with breast cancer. She was 40. Sheri was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, grew up in Metairie, LA., and lived the past 7 years in Mandeville. She graduated from East Jefferson High School and attended Louisiana State University and graduated from John Jay Beauty College. She was employed by Salon D’Nova. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Church. For six years, Sheri’s passion was cheering as a Saintsation for the New Orleans Saints. Everyone needs a cheerleader and Sheri exemplified this to everyone she touched. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Oubre; her daughter, Haley Lynn Oubre; her father, Jimmy R. Haley; her late mother, Patsy Barnes Haley; three sisters, Teri Haley D’Gerolamo (Harry), Christina Haley Chifici (Eric), Ashley Haley Vazeen (Matti), brother, Donald Haley (Dottie); in-laws, Lynn and Lois Oubre; and sister-in-law, Susan Prados (Dan); nieces and nephews, Elizabeth and Shannon Haley, Dane, Jarrod and Alexa D’Gerolamo, Erica and Nicholas Chifici, Cameron and Isabella Vazeen, Megan, Jared and Scott Prados. The Lord gave her such beauty and grace. Now He has taken her home. She has been given the ultimate healing.
