Our loving Mother, Sherian Lindsey Simpson, 82, passed away in Tyler, Texas on Friday, December 15th, 2023, after a prolonged illness.
She was born December 5th, 1941 in Gilmer, Texas to the late Raymond and Kathleen (Myers) Lindsey. She graduated from Gilmer High School in 1959 and worked most of her adult life as an executive secretary to the President of Industrial Steel in Longview, Texas and as a Mary Kay Cosmetics consultant. She was married June 15th, 1968 to Richard Michael Simpson in Gilmer, Texas. Her greatest loves were her family, her LDS faith and singing.
She is survived by her daughter Amy (Robin) Franklin, her daughter Alyssa (Jeff) Reece, daughter-in-law Amanda Simpson, granddaughters Jasmyn Simpson, Arianna Berry and Skylee Ford, grandsons Asa (Linda Smith) Johnson and Landry Johnson, great granddaughter Alexa Thomas, sisters Paula Lindsey and Kristy Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Michael Simpson, September 10th, 1999, her son Jason Lindsey Simpson, January 14th, 2010, and her sister Kathy Lindsey Tate April 7th, 2022.
There will be a visitation Tuesday, December 19th, 2023 from 6-8 pm at Croley Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 20th, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints beginning at 2pm with Bishop Dennis Means conducting, with interment to follow at Kelsey Cemetery.
The family would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at Providence Park Nursing Home in Tyler, Texas and East Texas Hospice for their attentiveness and loving care.
