Modesto, California - Sherlan Lang, a longtime resident of Modesto and the beloved matriarch of her family, passed away peacefully at Memorial Hospital at the age of 88. Sherlan was surrounded by members of her loving family.

Born in Reno, Nevada, on June 16, 1937, Sherlan moved to Modesto as an infant. A proud graduate of Modesto High (Class of 1955) and Modesto Junior College, she eventually found her professional home at Damrell Law Offices. Her dedication was legendary; she served as the office administrator for 48 years, becoming an indispensable fixture of the firm.

Sherlan was a woman of deep faith and "simple joys" that were often punctuated by her wicked sense of humor. Whether she was attending Soroptimist luncheons, where she was a member for 39 years, cheering loudly for her 49ers, or exploring California on outings with friends and family, she lived with a vibrant spirit. She loved a good book and a game of Bunco with her friends. As the family matriarch, she was the anchor-offering wisdom and inner strength to her children and grandchildren whenever they needed it most.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Rita Lang, and her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Vincent Occhipinti. Her legacy of laughter and loyalty lives on through her children, Ann (Mitch) Marinovich and Larry (Kristen) Bartlett; and her cherished grandchildren, Taylor Dykzeul and Andrew Bartlett.
