Shermain "Sheri" Elizabeth Cliatt, 65, of Mexico Beach, Florida, passed away at home unexpectedly on July 30, 2025. Her loss is deeply felt by her family and all who knew and loved her.

Born on June 26, 1960, Sheri grew up in Guntersville, Alabama where she enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduating high school. She served honorably for four years, rapidly ascending the ranks to Sergeant. While stationed in Texas, Sheri met the love of her life, Chuck Cliatt and the two married in 1982 and built a life together rooted in love, faith, and devotion to their growing family.

Sheri was a loving and adventurous mother and wife, never shying away from making memories and exploring new cultures during their twenty years traveling the world while Chuck was in the Air Force. Her children cherish the memories she provided - whether showing off her exceptional slalom skiing skills, heading out on an impromptu salmon fishing trip, or experimenting with something new in the kitchen. As her children grew older, Sheri continued serving others by returning to school becoming an interpreter for the deaf, working primarily with deaf and special needs children. Her work reflected her deep compassion and belief in the value and dignity of every person.

Sheri was known for her warmth, generosity, and the way she put others at ease. She found joy in simple pleasures such as cooking, traveling in the RV with Chuck, relaxing by the pool, and spending time with her family and friends. In the weeks before her passing, she was able to enjoy all of these things, surrounded by the people she loved most.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Chuck Cliatt; her children, Lauren Rosenblatt (Lindsay), Shay Cliatt, and Chase Cliatt (Stacy); her grandchildren, to whom she was known as CiCi, Asher, Annabeth, and Avery; her brothers, Tony Cook (Carolyn) and Jimmy Cook; her nieces and nephew; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Mary Cook.

Sheri will be remembered for her unwavering love, quiet strength, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness and care.

The family will hold a graveside service at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, AL on August 22nd at 11:00 Eastern Time with a celebration of life to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider honoring Sheri with an act of kindness.
