Sherman Zeeman Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Premier Funeral Services - Salt Lake City on Sep. 26, 2024.
Sherman Zeeman returned to his heavenly home on September 24, 2024, after fighting a hard battle due to complications from a serious injury. He was born on October 29, 1935, in Payson Utah, as the seventh of thirteen children to John and Martha Zeeman.
For Sherm, his life of 88 years was not nearly long enough. He savored every breath that he took and each opportunity that was his. Life was not a glide but filled with hard work that yielded results of rewarding accomplishment. He lived a life full of adventure. He was thrilled by the sound of a finely tuned engine or the rush from acceleration. Fast cars and motorcycles were the love of his youth and served to nurture and develop his mechanical talents at an early age.
After answering the call to honorably serve his country in the United States Army,
Sherm returned home from Germany and soon met Pat. Not a minute was wasted before he knew she was the love that would make his life whole. Sherm and Pat married and started their journey down an open road that presented choice experiences at every turn. Together they loved and reared four children. As the years have passed, their posterity has grown to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The lens through which Sherm viewed each day was that of endless possibility. His mind was his gift and if he could dream it he would build it. Doing the impossible seemed to be his goal as he successfully forged a career path that others could follow. He spent the greater part of his life in the driver's seat traveling back and forth across the country transporting heavy equipment, including an MX Missile, a Locomotive Steam Engine, and many other loads. He was a pioneer in his field.
Sherm was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He and Pat
enjoyed the blessings of being sealed together in the Salt Lake, Utah Temple. He served diligently in various callings in the gospel with Pat by his side. Together they answered the call to be missionaries, and later as he was called to the office of Bishop.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia Ann Philips of Nephi, Utah; his children: Holly Jensen, of Payson Utah; Shawnie (Rick) Worthen, of Payson Utah; and Ren (Kristeene) Zeeman, of Payson, Utah; grandchildren: Whitney (Mike) Wall, Corbin (Tiare) Worthen, Carter (Jenna) Worthen, Shakaylee (Nate) Webb, Jaesha (Jordan) Walker, Jakenzie (Caleb) Jones, Chayden Zeeman, Chyler (Madilyn) Zeeman, and Adelaide Zeeman; 2 brothers and 3 sisters: Lamar (Judy) Zeeman, Martha Ray (Lee R) Watkins, Barbera Kay Wright, Robert (Lynette) Zeeman and Carma Zeeman; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Martha Zeeman; son, Chet Zeeman; grandson, Jordan (Melissa) Jensen; siblings: Bernice (Carl) Merrill, Alene (Dale) Lewis, Maxine (Kent) Kendall, Darrel (Helena) Zeeman, Joyce (Bob) Rinquist, Charles (Beth) Zeeman, and Leon (Alene) Zeeman.

Family and friends may attend a visitation at the same location on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the Saturday service.
