Sherri Gale Gray, age 82, peacefully passed away September 13, 2024. Born on August 27, 1942, in Weatherford, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Alfred and Francis Elders. Sherri had a passion for life that she expressed through her love for gardening and dancing, which brought her immense joy.
Her memory lives on through her significant other, Darrell Johnson; her daughters, Rene Burkhalter and Jodi Bensmiller (and husband, Clay); and her cherished grandchildren: John Thomas Larkin (and wife, Emily), Kelsey Horton, Quinton Gillum (and wife, Ciara), Taylor Smith, Karley Horton, and Caleb Smith. Sherri was also a proud great-grandmother to Paige Larkin, Gage Larkin, and Charlie Gillum.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Cindy Burkhalter Horton; and her brother, Gary Don Elders.
A memorial service honoring Sherri's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.
