Sherri Ann Hazen

Sherri Ann Hazen, aged 60 of Eagle, passed away peacefully July 27, 2023 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with a rare and aggressive cancer.
Sherri was born June 6, 1963 in Kalamazoo to Stanley and Sally (Truscott) Bump. She grew up in Lansing graduating from Waverly High School class of 1981. She worked as a Teacher's Aide at Greenwood and Beagle in Grand Ledge.
Family always came first. She took pride in being the best wife, mother to her three children, and grandmother to her two granddaughters. Her family was her reason for living until the very end.
Sherri was kind, compassionate, wise, and was one of the best listeners who could help you through anything. She was a wild child, free spirit, prankster, and had a strong will who wasn't afraid to speak her mind. She had a heart of gold, an open mind, and genuinely beautiful, vibrant soul.
Sherri had an unwavering appreciation for nature. Two of her favorite places were Lake Michigan, where she met her husband at age 17 and vacationed annually with their family, and in the woods on the family farm where they resided for almost 40 years together and raised their family. Soaking up fresh air, getting lost in sunsets, tending to her beautiful flower gardens, camping with family, being a photographer, and spending quality time with her family, especially her granddaughters, were her favorite things to fill her time with. She will be missed immensely by her family, friends and the many lives that she touched.
She is survived by her loving husband of over thirty-eight years, Jeff; children, Amber (Travis) Vaillancourt, Zachary and Dustin Hazen; granddaughters, Elizabeth Rieslynn and Clara Ann Hazen; parents, Stanley and Sally Bump; siblings, Shelly (Ian) Gibson and Scott Bump; brothers-in-law, Mike and Chris Hazen; along with nieces, Meghan and Hanna Gibson and Mallory and Emmally Hazen.
A celebration of Sherri's life will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 4-11:00 PM at the Eagle Park Fairgrounds, Beer Tent Pavilion at the back of the property, 14331 S. Grange Road, Eagle, Michigan 48822. Signage will be available to direct to the event location on the grounds. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided, BYOB.
