Sherri Prime Obituary

Sherri Ann Prime, a devoted mother and grandmother, passed away too soon on August 16, 2025, surrounded by love in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on February 2, 1960, in El Paso, Texas, Sherri brought joy and laughter into the lives of all who knew her. She was a loving and kind person, recognized for her calm and comforting strength that made everyone feel cherished. With a great smile and a wonderfully funny disposition, she had an innate ability to brighten each day.

Sherri's life revolved around her family, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to ensuring their happiness. Though she had a few jobs here and there, her true career was nurturing her children and grandchildren. She provided a steady foundation of love and warmth, embodying the role of caretaker and mother not only to her own children but also to those in her extended family and friends. Sherri's proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her family and the bonds she built with them.

She graduated from Coronado High School in El Paso, Texas, but her most significant education was found in the love she shared with those surrounding her. On October 19, 1984, she married her beloved husband, Steven Prime, and together they illustrated what true love looks like. Sherri also took immense pride in her grandchildren. Her spirit as an animal lover, especially her fondness for her cats, exemplified her tender nature, contributing to the beautiful tapestry of her life.

Sherri leaves behind her children, Lacey and Ryan Fizer, Stephanie and Daniel Drummond, and Phillip and Alice Shives; grandsons, Kristopher and Cayci Prime, Rylan Fizer, Caleb Ding, Noah Drummond, and her granddaughters Flora Drummond, Milla Shives, Nadia Shives, and Leigh Gant. She had many adopted grandchildren, extending her nurturing spirit wide and far; sisters, Jennifer and Larry Wyatt, Debbie Livingston, Phyllis Banister and Susan Covill, as well as her brother, Charles Shives. Many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. She is preceded in death by her husband Steven Prime; son Troy Prime; parents, Phillip and Sandra Shives. Though they have passed on, their love will always be part of Sherri's enduring legacy.

A visitation will be held in her honor on August 26, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Sherri will then be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, where her family can gather to celebrate the exceptional life she led.

Sherri Ann Prime’s legacy of love and kindness will continue to flourish in the hearts of her family and friends. She showed us the true meaning of family and unwavering faithfulness, and her laughter will resound through the generations.
