Sherri B. Rossi, 70, of East Northview Avenue, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. She was born in Newark, NJ, on July 20, 1954, the only daughter of the late Absalom ‘Jack’ Brent and Ellamead (Walden) Brent. Sherri married John Baptist Rossi, on March 22, 1997, he survives in New Castle. Sherri was a member of Holy Spirit Parish- St. Vincent de Paul and had a master’s degree in education. She retired after 27 years as a first and third grade teacher for the Bloomfield School District, Carteret Elementary School, and Bloomfield Middle School. She also taught BSIP- Basic Skill Improvement Program, for the Bloomfield School District. When she moved to New Castle, she worked for 8 years at Golden Hill Nursing Home as an activity aid. She enjoyed flower gardening and loved her roses. Sherri loved spending time with family, her greatest joy was her children and her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her twin children, Cameron G. Rossi and Jillian R. Lockett and her husband Tyrone all of New Castle, and two grandchildren, Desirae Brown and Zoey Lockett.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 3, 2025, from 3 PM to 6 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Holy Spirit Parish- St. Camillus Church. Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
