Sherri Suzanne Stockton, 67, of Bridgeport peacefully passed from this earth on July 31, 2025.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport, where a funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at Paradise Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Sherri was born on July 31, 1958, in Bridgeport, Texas to William and Faye (Kaker) Tackel and was a proud graduate of Paradise High School, class of 1976. Sherri furthered her education by obtaining an Associate's Degree from Weatherford College, demonstrating her commitment to personal growth. On December 27, 1996, she was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Mike Stockton, in a beautiful ceremony in Runaway Bay. Their union flourished for over 28 years, marked by enduring love and companionship. With a heart full of love, Sherri dedicated her life to being a devoted homemaker and nurturing her family. She will be remembered not just for her unwavering commitment to her family, but for the kindness and grace she extended to those around her.
She is survived by the love of her life, Mike Stockton of Bridgeport; her children, Wes Partin of Fort Worth and Brandon Young and his wife Whitney of Arlington; Suzanne Largent of Runaway Bay and J.T. Stockton and wife Jody of New Braunfels; her brother William “Bill” Tackel of Decatur; Carol Tackel of Lake Worth; 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; numerous other family members and a host of friends.
Special thanks to the Class of 1976 Girls of Paradise and caregivers Brittany and Elizabeth.
Sherri will be deeply missed but never forgotten; her spirit will shine in the memories of her loved ones forever.
