Sherrie Elizabeth Callahan was born on September 24, 1963, to David and Kathy King. She married Ron Callahan on May 31, 1986, and together they raised two children, Sydney Everett and Ethan Callahan. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, coworker, and friend. Sherrie brightened every single room she walked in and made a lasting impact on countless lives throughout her career in teaching. Her playful personality, sincere nature, and ability to make anyone laugh was contagious, and she will forever be remembered for the way that she loved like Jesus loves.
Sherrie was a person who truly left people and places better than she found them. Known for her incredible wit and quick sense of humor, she had a remarkable gift for putting a smile on anyone’s face. She lived with a spirit of joy and intention, always fully present with the people she loved. Whether sharing laughter with family, offering encouragement to a friend, or simply brightening a room with her presence, Sherrie’s life was a reflection of kindness, authenticity, and joy. Her favorite place was always with her people, and the way she lived her life was a beautiful reflection of that love.
Sherrie’s memory will be carried on by her loving family: her father, David King; her devoted husband, Ron Callahan; her son Ethan and his wife Katherine Callahan; her daughter Sydney Everett; her sisters Susan King and April (Jesse) King Adams; her brother Mitch (Amy) King; and her treasured grandson Luke Everett. She was also joyfully awaiting the arrival of her grandson, Harvey Callahan, due in February.
Sherrie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jesse and Alice Maxine (Mitchell) Dorsett; mother, Kathy King; and daughter, Taylor Elizabeth Callahan.
“And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”-Romans 8:28, Sherrie’s favorite Bible verse
