Sherron S. Barabasz, age 79, of Moore, Oklahoma, was born on October 4, 1946, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to John Robert and F. Maxine (Zerger) Bass. She passed away on February 2, 2026, surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, service, and devotion to family.

She graduated from Blackwell high school with the class of 1964.

Received her Associates degree in nursing in 1974 and went on to complete her BSN from Saint Mary of the Plains, KS, completed the Family Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Oklahoma in 1979. She spent the last 12 years of her nursing career as an Infection Control Practitioner and received her National Infection Control

Certification during that time before retiring in 2013.

Sherron had a kind and giving heart and dedicated more than 50 years of her life to caring for others as a nurse. Helping people was not just her profession, but her calling. She also gave generously of her time as a volunteer at the St. Andrew Catholic Church Food Pantry in Moore and at the local animal shelter.

In her quieter moments, Sherron enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and reading. She was a devoted Oklahoma Sooners football fan and loved spending time watching Western movies and game shows. Above all else, she cherished her family. Sherron touched countless lives through her kindness and selflessness and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sherron is survived by her daughter, Darcy Jenkins and partner, Stephen Yunker; two nieces, Sheri Day and husband Jeff, and Shanie Day and husband John; step daughter, Michelle Massey and husband David; niece-in-law, Terry Dewey; grandchildren, Seth Jenkins and partner Kelsea Pinkerton, Clinton Hindman and wife Courtney, Chace Hindman, Kisen Sharp and wife Ashlee, Ashlynn Foy and husband Robert, Michael Day and wife Sam, Rachael Maxwell and husband Chris, and Brian Dewey and wife Jennifer; along with a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, and many other loving extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Zennon Barabasz; daughter, Jalyn; two nephews, Johnny Dewey and Mitchell Dewey; her parents, John and Maxine Bass; stepson, John Barabasz; sister, Sandra Kay Dewey and her husband Jim; and grandson, Eric Dewey.

Services to celebrate Sherron's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, 120 South Broadway Avenue, Moore, Oklahoma.

The family suggests memorial donations be made in Sherron's memory to St. Andrew Catholic Church Food Pantry, 800 SW 5th Street, Moore, OK 73160, or to The Oklahoma Humane Society, P.O. Box 18471, Oklahoma City, OK 73154.

Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, Oklahoma.
