Sherry Ferguson Obituary

Sherry Miller Ferguson, born on February 9, 1950, in New Orleans, LA, passed away on April 11, 2024, at the age of 74. She is survived by her husband, Melvin J. Ferguson, Sr., two sons Melvin, Jr. (Mallory) and Kyle (Dwan), one daughter Shayla F. Dabney (Devin), brother Johnny Miller (Jeanette), and sixteen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Eugene and Romalie Miller, brothers Robert Cleggett (Dorothy), Anthony, Charles, and Allison Miller (Mildred). Sherry was known for her great intelligence, wit, humor, and dear love for her family. She was a 1968 graduate of McDonogh No. 35 High School. She earned her B.S. from Southern University. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 19, 2024, for 11:00 a.m. at Holy Name of Mary Church located at 400 Verret St, New Orleans, LA 70114. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Father Eugene F. Jacques, officiating. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Boyd-Brooks Funeral & Cremation Service.
