Kernersville – Sherry Mabe Hoss, 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Moses Cone Hospital. She was born on June 6, 1955, in Rockingham County, North Carolina, to Clarence and Ruby Wilkins Mabe.
Sherry was known for her warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for her family. Sherry was an avid Duke basketball fan and loved watching NASCAR racing. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her cherished dog, Duke, who was always by her side. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her beloved grandson, Ryan Bullins, whom she loved more than anything in the world.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Harmon, and her brother, Larry “Dean” Mabe.
Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted husband, James “Randall” Lawson; her loving daughter, Ashley Bullins and husband Chad; her treasured grandson, Ryan Bullins; her brother, Michael Mabe; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.
A funeral service to honor Sherry’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel, with Pastor Tim Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 PM, prior to the service, at the funeral home. A private family interment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sedge Garden Baptist Church, Kernersville, NC.
Sherry’s loving heart, beautiful smile, and devotion to her family will be remembered always.
