Sherry L. Kopp, age 74 of Huey, passed away at her home on Friday, January 10, 2025.
Sherry was born in Breese, Illinois on September 30, 1950, a daughter of Carl W. and Kathleen (Hubbard) Gambill. She was a devoted member of Huey Methodist Church and faithfully supported their missions. Sherry was a compassionate and caring soul always eager to offer a hug or helping hand. She had a spot for cats and will be deeply missed by the 9 cats she currently cares for.
Sherry most recently owned Sherry's Cleaning Service with her best friend and business partner, Mella Hammons. They worked hard and always looked forward to going to the movies and "play day."
Sherry is survived by a daughter, Nikki Moulton (Jeff) of Vandalia; her grandchildren, Kayhla Haller of Springfield, Illinois and Ricky Waldron, II of Charlotte, North Carolina; her great grandchildren, Ella and Amena Haller; a sister, Vicki Dodson of Centralia; a brother, Michael Gambill (Sonja) of Anna; a brother-in-law, Leroy Holstlaw; her nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Holstlaw, Cassandra Watkins (Eric), Vicky Treffert, and Michelle Williams; and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Holstlaw.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Huey Methodist Church, 330 Huey St, Huey, IL 62252, with Pastor Rose Straeter, officiating. Interment will follow at Carlyle Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Huey Methodist Church on Saturday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Ms. Kopp are suggested to Huey Methodist Church or to the Clinton County Humane Society. Donations will be received through Zieren Funeral Home, 1111 Clinton Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.
